*Brush twice daily with extension boar bristle brush.
*Use your extension boar bristle brush to brush your hair starting at the ends, securing your hair with the other hand to prevent tension on the roots. Brush
well before wetting your hair. Use a leave in conditioner as a detangling spray for easy brushing.
*Do not wash your hair, sweat, or swim until 48 hours after your hair extension installation.
*Wash your hair using sulfate free shampoo and conditioner at most 3 times a week.
*After wetting the hair well, gently apply the Shampoo to the root area. Using your fingers, lightly massage between the tape/bonds, separating them well to remove any residue and oils. Rinse out. Do not vigorously scrub your hair as tangling may occur. Apply Conditioner from mid-length to the ends. Never condition at the root area. Do not go to sleep with wet hair, as this will cause tangling and knotting.
*At night, always make sure that the top connection points or bonds are fully dry before going to sleep. Also, loosely braid your hair or wear your hair in a bun. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL CAUSE TRACTION ALOPECIA AND SEVERE MATTING.
* Never heat the bond or connection directly.
Your new extensions can be styled endlessly but there are a few recommendations.
*Do not aim a blow dryer directly at the bond area. Do not flatiron the bonds. Begin your pass a little lower than the bond area. Do not use a blow dry brush. K tip extensions CANNOT be blow out with a brush.
*Apply a heat protectant spray to the ends of your extensions to protect them from excessive heat styling damage. Never apply alcohol-heavy based spray, mousses, or other products directly onto the bonds. Always have your stylist make styling product recommendations.
*Secure your hair in a ponytail or braid before any physical activity (pool, beach, gym, biking, etc.), secure hair well in a braid, bun or under a cap. If you're going to the pool/ocean/lake, wet your hair and apply conditioner to your hair to seal it. Make sure to wash hair very well immediately after to remove any chemicals, sweat or residue.
*Avoid self tanner, makeup, skin care products, and sunscreen on your extensions. This may cause the extensions to turn pink/red and isn’t reversible, and
the extension hair will be ruined. If this happens, the only option is to buy new extensions.
*Sun exposure can strip the pigments from your extensions-exposing the original undertones causing dryness, frizziness, and tangling.
Avoid this by:
*Keeping your hair’s sun exposure to a minimum.
*Using leave in conditioner with UV protection benefits.
*Keeping sunscreen off the extension hair as it can cause blonde extension hair to turn pink.
Before entering chlorinated, lake, or salt water:
*Soak your hair thoroughly with clean water.
Apply conditioner or spray leave in conditioner onto your hair. This will give the hair extensions a barrier of protection by preventing them from soaking up as much
chlorine or salt.
Put your hair in a ponytail or loose braid. Before entering chlorinated, lake, or salt water.
Lack of at home care will cause damage to natural hair, sometimes permanent. Move ups must be scheduled after each extension appointment. Weft extensions must be moved up every 6-8 weeks, K tip extensions must be removed and replaced every 3-6 months. All K tip clients must have a recheck at 3 months. If extension move up is delayed beyond recommended time, there is no guarantee the extensions or natural hair won’t be damaged.
**Any adjustments with extensions must be done within 7 days of application. Any issues beyond 7 days will be charged as a full price install.**
